Jazz Café?
A: The Smithsonian Jazz Café offers world-class jazz
performers in an intimate café setting with fabulous
food & drinks.
Q: What food & drink is served at Jazz Café?
A: Diners can choose from a gourmet chef’s special as
well as freshly roasted meats at the carvery station with choice
of sides. Try our specialty pizzas, the taqueria bar, or pick
up a made to order salad and a cup of soup made daily. Hamburgers,
cheeseburgers, veggie burgers, and pre-made salads are always
available, and you cann finish up your meal with a delicious
selection of desserts. The Jazz Café bar includes imported
and domestic beers, a selection of wines and sodas as well as
premium mixed drinks, sodas, and juices.
Q: When should I arrive to get the best seats?
A: We open seating between 6 & 6:15pm every Friday. Patrons
are sat first-come, first-served. Arrive early to get the best
views of the stage!
Q: What is included with my Jazz Café admission?
A: The $12 cover charge includes admission only. Food and drinks
are bought a la carte, separately.
Q: Where do I pick up my tickets?
A: Will call opens at 5:30pm just outside of the Atrium Café
on the ground floor of the Natural History Museum.
Q: Is there a schedule for the evening’s performance?
A: The live performance begins at 6:30. Musicians usually play
3 sets. The schedule of the sets varies from week to week by
performer.
Q: I am attending an IMAX screening the same evening.
Are there any discount packages for both IMAX and Jazz Café?
A: A combo ticket for both Jazz Cafe and IMAX is available from
the IMAX box office for $20 on the 2nd floor, or by calling
202 633-IMAX. Patrons must purchase tickets together to get
this discount.
You may purchase a Jazz Café ticket for $9.50 if you
have already bought the IMAX ticket and want to buy the jazz
cafe ticket only (also sold by IMAX).
Q: Do you have any special arrangements for groups?
A: Groups of 20 or more may receive a discounted price and reserved
table when bought as one transaction. We also offer group dinner
packages. Please call 202 633-8801 for more information.
Q: How can I distribute tickets to a group?
A: You may leave tickets at will call for others to pick up.
Make sure the name you leave the tickets under is the name they
will ask for when they reach will call.
Q: Where should I send materials if I am interested
in performing at Jazz Café?
A: Musicians: please do not telephone us regarding bookings.
Performers with a current recording contract may mail a CD,
resume, and press package for consideration to:
